Christmas 2008
In 2007 we helped families, seniors and disabled adults celebrate the
Christmas Season with gifts and food. We need your help, again, this year.
Families are referred to OPEN M by social workers, school counselors or ministers from our
surrounding community that need assistance to help bring a merry holiday to their family. When
adopting families you can request single mom/dad/grandmother, how many children or if you
would like to adopt a senior or severely disabled adult. When adopting a family you buy gifts for
each child 17 years old and under along with a family gift plus food items. Sizes and gift
suggestions will be given for each eligible family member to make shopping easier for our
sponsors. Gifts can be personally delivered by you to your adopted family or drop off your gifts at
OPEN M and we will distribute your gifts to your family. Adopted families are not aware who
adopted them, unless the sponsor gives OPEN M permission.
Companies/Corporations can also Adopt A Family by choosing to do a "giving tree". Cards can be
given to distribute to your employees containing first names, clothing size with either one or two
gift suggestions. This would allow your employees to pick who they want to buy for based on
gender, age or gift suggestion. As a company/corporation you can request how many cards you
need and by what gender or age.
We will do our best to match you with those families or individuals that best fit your request.
Consider helping us give Christmas to those that can least afford it. Most of the time the people
helping feel just as blessed as those receiving.
